tHE Church HISTORY

1

The arrival of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost empowered the apostles to preach the gospel, leading to the conversion of many, marking the start of the church

2

Prophecy fullfilled:Jesus's prophecy in Luke 24:47, that repentance and forgiveness of sins would be preached in his name starting in Jerusalem, was fulfilled.

3

The church was established in Jerusalem, and it was from there that the message of Christ spread to other regions, such as Samaria, Asia Minor, and eventually Rome.

4

While the Bible doesn't use the term "first church" directly, it describes the early believers in Jerusalem as the foundation of the church. We are the Church.

5

The early Christians in Jerusalem, mostly Jewish converts, continued their Jewish practices while also embracing Jesus as the Messiah.

6

Antioch became a significant center of Christianity, where followers of Jesus were first called Christians. We follow Jesus Christ

TEACHINGS

How to get to heaven

Christians believe they must have faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. This belief is based on the idea that Jesus's death and resurrection atone for sins, granting believers eternal life. It's not about good works or following religious laws, but about trusting in Jesus's sacrifice.

Acceptance of Jesus:

.

Christians believe that salvation is a gift freely given through faith in Jesus Christ. This involves acknowledging Jesus as the Son of God and the one who paid the penalty for their sins.

Confession and Belief:

.

Romans 10:9 says: "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved". This verse highlights the importance of both confessing faith and believing in Jesus's resurrection.

Eternal Life:

Believing in Jesus's death, burial, and resurrection provides assurance of eternal life and going to heaven when one dies.
