✨ The Trinity: One God in Three Persons
1. What is the Trinity?
- One God eternally existing in three distinct Persons:
- Father (Creator, Source)
- Son (Jesus Christ, Redeemer)
- Holy Spirit (Helper, Sustainer)
📖 Deuteronomy 6:4 – “The LORD our God, the LORD is one.”
📖 Matthew 28:19 – “…baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
2. Unity of the Trinity
- One in essence, nature, and will.
- Not three gods (polytheism).
- Not one God wearing different “masks” (modalism).
✨ God is three in Person, one in Being.
Illustrations (limited but helpful):
- Water (ice, liquid, vapor – still H₂O).
- Sun (light, heat, radiation).
- Mind (thought, word, breath).
3. The Father 💙
- Source of all creation.
- Initiator of salvation.
- Eternal Father who loves His children.
📖 1 Corinthians 8:6 – “…one God, the Father, from whom all things came…”
4. The Son ✝️
- Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man.
- Reveals the Father.
- Died and rose again for our salvation.
📖 John 1:1 – “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
📖 John 14:9 – “Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.”
5. The Holy Spirit 🌿
- The presence of God with us today.
- Convicts, comforts, guides, empowers.
- Dwells in every believer.
📖 John 14:26 – “The Advocate, the Holy Spirit… will teach you all things.”
6. The Trinity in Action 🔄
- Creation → Father spoke, Son (Word) created, Spirit hovered. (Genesis 1)
- Baptism of Jesus → Son baptized, Spirit descended, Father spoke. (Matthew 3:16–17)
- Salvation → Father planned, Son accomplished, Spirit applies.
7. Why the Trinity Matters ✨
- Shows God’s nature as love (relationship within Himself).
- Grounds our worship (we worship the Triune God).
- Shapes our prayer (to the Father, through the Son, in the Spirit).
- Inspires unity in the church (many members, one body).
🌍 The Mystery of Love
We cannot fully comprehend the Trinity — but we can know Him and experience His love.
📖 2 Corinthians 13:14 – “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.”
