tHE Church HISTORY

1

The arrival of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost empowered the apostles to preach the gospel, leading to the conversion of many, marking the start of the church

2

Prophecy fullfilled:Jesus's prophecy in Luke 24:47, that repentance and forgiveness of sins would be preached in his name starting in Jerusalem, was fulfilled.

3

The church was established in Jerusalem, and it was from there that the message of Christ spread to other regions, such as Samaria, Asia Minor, and eventually Rome.

4

While the Bible doesn't use the term "first church" directly, it describes the early believers in Jerusalem as the foundation of the church. We are the Church.

5

The early Christians in Jerusalem, mostly Jewish converts, continued their Jewish practices while also embracing Jesus as the Messiah.

6

Antioch became a significant center of Christianity, where followers of Jesus were first called Christians. We follow Jesus Christ

Timeline of Revelations

The Book of Revelation describes a series of events leading to the end of the world, though the exact timeline is debated. Generally, it includes the letters to the seven churches, visions of heaven, the breaking of the seals, the sounding of the trumpets, the pouring out of the bowls, and finally, the battle of Armageddon and the establishment of God's eternal kingdom. The middle chapters (6-18) are not strictly chronological, with some events overlapping or occurring simultaneously

Early Events (Chapters 1-5):

Letters to the Seven Churches:

.

Jesus addresses seven churches in Asia Minor with specific messages of praise, criticism, and encouragement.

Vision of Heaven:

.

A vision of God's throne room, the Lamb (Jesus), and the breaking of the seven seals.

The Seven Seals (Chapters 6-8a):

Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse: The opening of the first four seals releases a white, red, black, and pale horse, symbolizing conquest, war, famine, and death, according to Wikipedia.

Martyrs: The fifth seal reveals the souls of those who were slain for their faith.

Cosmic Disturbances: The sixth seal brings about earthquakes, darkening of the sun and moon, and stars falling from the sky.

The Seven Trumpets (Chapters 8b-11):

Nature's Plagues: Seven angels sound trumpets, bringing plagues upon the earth, including hail, fire, and polluted waters.

Demonic Attacks: Demons are released from the bottomless pit, tormenting mankind.

Two Witnesses: Two witnesses prophesy for a period of time, then are killed and resurrected.

The Seven Bowls (Chapters 15-16):

Final Judgments:

.

Seven angels pour out seven bowls of God's wrath, bringing sores, turning the sea to blood, scorching heat, darkness, and a great earthquake.

Fall of Babylon:

.

The sixth bowl leads to the drying up of the Euphrates River, hinting at the final battle.

The Climax (Chapters 17-22):

Babylon's Destruction: A symbolic Babylon (representing worldly power and corruption) is destroyed.

The Beast and False Prophet: The beast and the false prophet are defeated.

Armageddon: A final battle between good and evil takes place, with God's victory.

Second Coming of Christ: Jesus returns to earth.

Millennial Reign: Satan is bound for a thousand years, and Christ reigns with his saints.

Final Judgment: Satan is released for a short time, then defeated, and the final judgment occurs.

New Heaven and New Earth: A new heaven and new earth are created, and God's eternal kingdom is established.
